Who We Are

Thriving Communities focuses on better meeting the needs of the Latino Community and obtaining program grants aimed at decreasing health disparities within the Latino and other marginalized communities. This includes, but is not limited to, providing a physical activity and nutrition education curriculum to help teach clients how to eat smart and move more. The program also teams with partners such as the YMCA of HunterdonShopRite of Hunterdon County (including Flemington and Clinton stores), the Center of Diabetes and Nutrition Management through Hunterdon Healthcare, faith-based organizations, and more, to provide education and services that encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Clients are adults who identify as Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) and identify as Latino or other marginalized member of our community. These clients are generally referred to United Way of Hunterdon County through various Hunterdon County agencies and partners that are aware of our program and the benefits it offers enrollees.

What We Do

United Way of Hunterdon County continues to partner with the Hunterdon Healthcare System, the YMCA of Hunderdon County, ShopRite of Hunterdon, BaseCamp 31, and the faith-based community to expand the breadth of programming.
